Well, I'm a nursing student. I am fascinated by the fact that many of my nursing instructors see Nursing
as a profession to contain within it an obligation to the community. I think that this is a very Campbellian (as
in Joseph Campbell) sort of approach.
"The unique function of the nurse is to assist people, sick or well, in the performance of those activities
contributing to health, its recovery (or to a peaceful death), that they would perform unaided if they had
the strength, will or knowledge. And to do this in such a way as to help them gain independence as rapidly as
possible"
