Back into the Fire

Well I've done it! I now get to put "BSN" (Bachelors of nursing) and "PHN" (Public Health Nurse) after my name!. My next trick is finishing my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. Thank goodness for online classes and a beloved who enjoys road trips. And I'm happy that the Duluth offleash dog park people will also accept our Minneapolis liscenses

Oh well, my life is NOT boring.

Looking for Research!:

As part of my doctoral work in Psychiatric/Mental Health nursing, I am putting together a research project on the phenomena of hearing voices. What I find interesting is that while Western culture defines this as a mental illness, and has a lousy rate of "cure", other cultures define it as a spiritual occurance, and have better success. Not at just getting rid of the voices, but at finding ways to deal with them. If you would like to here more, or offer a suggestion, please use the link at the bottom of this page to e-mail me.

Welcome to one of the more opinionated spots on the net. This site exists because I like to write, rant, and save rants and interesting bits that I run into. In other words, I'm an packrat, an opinionated one, and one of my favorite things to collect is information. Over the years in playing with the internet, I find that saving something online, on a web site, means I can access it from anywhere. Of course so can anyone else. Which is how you got here. Why are you here, anyway?

However, for all practical purposes, the real reason that this site exists as an actual web site at all is that I'm a total scrooge, and I could get it for free.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!
